ROSIE HALPIN

Rosie Halpin is attending her fourth and final year at York University in Toronto for a dual degree - BFA in Dance Choreography Stream and BSc in Physics. She is based out of Halifax and Toronto and has focused her training primarily on Contemporary and Modern movement. Rosie was a competitive dancer for 7 years and has completed all of her CDTA dance examinations. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. Rosie has performed with Nostos Dance Collective, was an invited guest dance performer for The Thunderbirds Lacrosse Team, and performed with Dance Innovations at York.

 

She won a Young Choreographer's Award in 2020 from Impact Dance Adjudicators for her Solo work "Soft Music", and in 2021, Rosie was accepted into the Nostos Residency Program. She is also an Acrobatic Arts Module 1 Certified Teacher. Rosie loves being in the studio with our IDA dancers, to reach goals and foster their love of dance.

Rosie provides technical training and choreography for our competitive dance team and is excited to be running our summer day camps this year. She worked as a day camp leader and child care provider for HRM summer day camps since 2018. Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and is excited to spend the summer with some new faces!
